Second Chance Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping struggling individuals overcome hardship and rebuild their lives. Through meaningful community programs and support, we empower people to work towards self-sufficiency and take their first steps toward a fresh start—one second chance at a time.
Our Founder
In 2001, as 75-year-old Patsy “Pat” Owen looked around at her community, she noticed a gap in support for people who were ready to work but lacked the basic tools to get started. That same year, Pat launched Second Chance Society as a testament to one unwavering belief: that it’s never too late to make a difference.
What started as a grassroots effort to help individuals overcome homelessness and hardship has since blossomed into a respected, impactful organization. Guided by Pat’s heart and determination, Second Chance Society is able to provide ongoing support and guidance to those seeking a fresh start. Pat’s founding principles of compassion, dignity, and accountability continue to inspire our staff, volunteers, and clients alike to believe in new beginnings at any age.
Mission
To give a second chance to homeless and other struggling individuals by providing moral encouragement and removing material barriers to self-sufficiency.
